Healthcare Workers Protection Act of 2017 (Main Group):"On a daily basis, healthcare workers are subjected to violence from patients and patient families, many of them sustaining injuries, and many of them struggling with the effects of PTSD for years after. If you ask a nurse to tell you the story of her first assault, she WILL have one.
So why aren't people talking about this?
Why aren't people effectively preventing or stopping this?
We aim here to create legislation and policies directed toward no longer being #ignored. We aim here to end retaliation by hospitals toward employees who seek help from law enforcement. We aim here to know that the officers there to protect us CAN protect us. "
